Tribal Girls' Hostel
The Tribal Girls’ Hostel, established in 2018 at Hope Centre, MANEDA, provides safe, supportive residential accommodation for vulnerable tribal girls pursuing their
education addressing challenges such as long travel distances, poverty and social
barriers that often lead to school dropout and early marriage.
Senapati district comprises 686 villages across six subdivisions, with a population of
666,016 (UIDAI 2023) and a literacy rate of 74.13%. Due to its remote, hilly terrain,
access to quality education remains a particular challenge for girls from economically
backward and interior villages — a gap the hostel is designed to help close. Medical
check-ups, co-curricular activities and a nurturing environment support the girls’
overall well-being and development.
