Friends Across Barriers (FAB)
Friends Across Barriers (FAB) is a project funded by Terre des Hommes, Germany,
working to strengthen children’s and women’s rights through peaceful conflict
resolution, conflict transformation and community-based peacebuilding in Assam and
Manipur. In Manipur, MANEDA implements FAB across 15 villages in Senapati and
Kangpokpi districts

Key Initiatives
- Community institutions: effective-parenting workshops, community leadership training, cultural peacebuilding events, and strengthened Women's Groups and Child Protection Committees
- Youth: mixed-gender sports meets, literary and empowerment meets, career counselling, and a dedicated Youth Information Centre (YIC) with library, WiFi and mentoring space
- Children: 15 Children's Clubs formed across project villages, plus a youth-authored Children's Manifesto on education, protection and participation rights
- Community libraries established in project villages and schools to build a reading culture, providing age-appropriate books, storytelling activities, educational games and group reading spaces
- Teaching Learning Material (TLM) kits for mathematics introduced in 12 schools, alongside child-friendly mural art promoting child rights and inclusion
